You thought there was going to be a cat post today didn't you?
Sorry to disappoint, it's just me! Maybe next Friday...

I've been thinking a lot about my own style lately and I think this outfit pretty much sums it up. I realize to some this would be totally drab, but for me its feels right. Just some simple pieces and a pop of color, or in some cases a texture, or an interesting print. That's all I need to feel confident.

I say this only because it is so easy to get wrapped up in other people's definitions of style. In this blogging world it so easy lose yourself trying to emulate someone else's interpretation of style. Sometimes I feel like I try to portray what I think others want to see instead of what's in my heart. It's only natural. You've all been there right? You don't realize you are doing it until you have like this a ha! moment.
Anyway, I don't want to get all psychological on you, so I thought I would share some of the pictures I normally wouldn't for the sake of my own image.

  1. I know how you feel. I feel like that a lot. I always come back around to being myself but sometimes I get sidetracked by what i think other people expect of me. Like if I don't do current fashion I think they think it is because I can't, not that I don't want to. So then I feel I have to prove something. But then I am not being true to myself. Because my eye likes what it likes, and I am comfortable in my own combinations. I can only know truly what looks good to my eyes anyway. It is hard to anticipate what other peole will like.

  2. Ok...loving the post title! However I have been informed by my gang member co-worker it is now infinitely more gangster to threaten to "slice" as opposed to "cut" somebody. The more you know...

  3. haha, but "cut" has such a better ring to it. It makes the sentence phonetically shorter.
