One Bracelet, Two Ways

jeans: gap; tank: target; scarf: old navy; shoes: aldo; "for keeps"bracelet c/o jewelmint; other jewelry: mixed.

Let me just start by saying these jeans were a godsend. No really. I had spent the better half of at least two different weekends attempting to bleach an old pair of jeans to a nice crisp white when I made a trip to the mall to stock-up on some Victoria's Secret undies (I've been using their coupons mailers to my advantage). Almost instinctively I stopped in Gap where I happened across these babies marked down to $29.99 in the clearance section. With the promise of an extra 30% off denim I decided to buy them because well I really wanted them and my aforementioned DIY was tanking. I got them up to the register fully prepared to pay $22 when they rang up as $13.99! SCORE!

The moral of this story: good things come to those that wait... for the end of season sale.

Now on to the bracelet. This was my pick of the two items that Lynzy and I were asked to style. Unlike the bolo necklace I knew from the beginning how I was going to style this piece.. layered with lots of other bracelets. I love how the blues. oranges, and grays go with anything and add just the right amount of color. The only problem with all these bracelets is that they are very loud when typing rapidly. It could be worse I guess.

How was everyones weekend? East Coast folks, did you survive the Earthquake/Hurricane week safely?
Don't forget to check out how Lynzy styled her "For Keeps" bracelet. Here's a sneak peak:

One Necklace, Two Ways

shirt:j.crew; shorts: diyed from an old pair of jeans; flippies:old navy; deco bolo necklace c/o jewelmint.

I've had the pleasure of working with Jewelmint in the past so when they approached me recently for another project I was not about to decline. The original idea was for me to style some Jewelmint pieces for both day and night. It sounded like so much fun, but with my hectic schedule these days there was no way I was going to pull that off in any kind of timely manner. So I called in reinforcements. The lovely Lynzy of Sparkling Footsteps.

We each got to pick one item to style, this is the deco-bolo necklace, Lynzy's pick. To be honest I was intimidated by this thing. I rattled my brain for days trying to decide what to wear it with. Then on Saturday, I was wearing these shorts and a black tank and decided to randomly throw on this plaid shirt and the necklace as I headed out to lunch with my family. (There is a life lesson in here somewhere...be patient?...don't try to force things?...good things come to those who wait?)

But you know what, I think it works. It's actually kind of silly how versatile this thing really is. Don't  you think? Now that I've worn it once I can see so many more possibilities. How would you style this necklace?

Here's a sneak peak how Lynzy did it. I must admit, I'm kind of coveting her pink pants. (I'm a pink convert thanks to all the cerise out there. ) Don't forget to head over to her blog to see her full post.
